We took a trip
to the Dupont Forest this past weekend to see some waterfalls.
This map shows the drive we took to get there, It is ~17 miles
in a straight line but we drove a little more than 60 miles
round trip. www.dupontforest.com
This is the
Little River and there are three waterfalls very close to each
other. This one is called Triple Falls for the obvious reason.
This was our favorite one and we spent the most time here.
There is a covered bridge at the top of
the highest waterfall. This waterfall is called High Falls and it drops
150 feet.
This is a view looking out over High
Falls from the covered bridge. There is a picnic area across the way
that faces High Falls. The girls played in the water here and also
enjoyed seeing the horses that were crossing the river.
Here the girls are at the base of High
Falls.
This is a view of the upper
fall of Triple Falls.
The girls were trying to catch
minnows in the water. Ashley was successful is getting an extremely small
one!
