July 24, 2009 We went down the Nantahala river today. We traveled there using the curvy back roads and the trip was 98 miles. We took 4 lane roads back home and it was 135 miles to get back home. The rafting trip down the river was around 2.5 hours and was 8 miles in length. This was a fun day trip for us.

We do not have a waterproof camera so this is the only picture that we have. It was taken by the rafting center. We are going down the last rapid and the largest one of the trip. Abbie was a little concerned about it so she took the walk path back to the rafting center. Krista, Ashley and I fell into the river during the trip and only Abbie managed to stay out of the river. Here is a larger version of the picture.
