June 28, 2009 The girls spotted this hornets nest outside the camper today. It's about 15 feet from the door of the camper. I'm surprised that we had not spotted it before. There was a lot of activity going on around the nest.

The hornets were going in and out of the nest hole like crazy. I had over 1/2 a can of wasp and hornet killer so I thought that would be enough to take care of the nest.

I used the entire contents of the can and they were still pouring out of the nest. Then they started to fly around and look for the person to blame. I quickly decided it was time to leave. The hornets were flying all over the place outside. I'm afraid Jack may have taken the wrap for me. He began barking several minutes after I ran inside.
