Krista and I went on a hike with some friends to see Raven Cliff Falls and Moonshine Falls in the Caesars Head State Park.  www.southcarolinaparks.com  This map shows where the park is in relation to our house.

The red line shows the trails we hiked to see Raven Cliff Falls and Moonshine Falls. The length of the hike was 11 miles. Fortunately, we were going down hill! This was a one way hike and we had a car waiting for us at the end of the hike. Click here for a larger picture.

We started the day by stopping at the Caesars Head overlook. It was a clear day and you could see for quite a ways. That is Table Rock towards the center of the picture.

I didn't get a very good picture of Raven Cliff falls. This picture was taken from the observation deck.

Krista is climbing down a wooden ladder on the trail. The trail is very steep in places.

Krista and I are standing on the suspension bridge that goes over Raven Cliff Falls.

We are crossing Mathews Creek using a cable bridge. The top cable was too tall for Krista so she put her hand in my pocket and I held on to her very tightly. We made it across without falling in.

Krista is relaxing on a rock in Mathews Creek. This was the location of one of the cable bridges.
Krista is standing next to the falling water at Moonshine falls.
There is a "cave" behind the falls and this was supposedly a place where moonshine was made. Krista is standing next to some long ago abandoned barrels and "still" parts.  .
